Mold, used in industries for manufacturing various parts by injection molding, contains several parts. Here are the basic parts of a mold:

  1. Mold Base: It is a large block that acts as a foundation of the mold, where other parts are attached.
  2. Cavity: The space inside the mold where the plastic material is injected and solidifies taking the shape of the end product.
  3. Core: It forms the interior of a molded part and maintains its shape.
  4. Sprue: It is the passage through which the molten plastic travels from the injection molding machine into a mold.
  5. Runner: A network of channels that meet the sprue, leading molten plastic to the cavities.
  6. Gate: The last section of the runner system that controls the flow of plastic entering into the cavity.
  7. Vent: It allows trapped air or gas to escape from the mold cavity during the injection process.
  8. Ejector Pins: These are used to eject the finished part out of the mold after the plastic has cooled and hardened.

Please note, names of multiple parts may vary depending on the complexity of the mold and the industry it is used in.
